Regis College

Regis College at the University of Toronto builds on the seed grant, “Educating the Whole Person: Integrating Affect and Reason in the Jesuit & Thomist Traditions” (2021-2022) with a new focus on environmental health. Project leader Dr. Gerard Ryan SJ, further fosters engagement with science resources and raises awareness about the risks and responsibilities posed by climate change with the project, “Bridging the Gap Between Science and Religion for Enhanced Pastoral Care Amidst Forest Fires.” Activities under the grant include a faculty seminar series, a seminar series for graduate students, a student book club, an essay prize, and a campus-wide lecture. A webinar catered to alumni draw particular attention to the impact of wildfires on communities across Canada and the phenomena of eco-anxiety.
