Portland Seminary at George Fox University is back, building a new focus on climate science into their previous exploration of “Science and Spirituality as Tools for Wellness and Healing” (2021-2022). Professor Ekaterina Lomperis’ project, “Climate Change as a Public Health Issue,” is equipping students with skills for strategic communication and community leadership. Grant activities include science lectures on campus, a climate awareness and action workshop for students, and the incorporation of forefront medical and environmental health research into courses in theology and ethics.
