In 2020, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary launched the Center for Climate Justice and Faith to better equip current and emerging faith leaders to respond to the climate crisis in ways that further economic, racial, and gender justice. In response to requests from Spanish-speaking leaders from the Lutheran church, they launched a Spanish-language Certificate in Climate Justice and Faith in January 2023 coordinated by Rev. Dr. Neddy Astudillo.

This series of five Spanish-language webinars on the intersection of climate justice, faith, and science provides an opportunity for alumni and current students, as well as students and faculty of their partner schools in Latin America and the Caribbean, and other member of the public to engage with these topics in Spanish. The goal is to increase understanding of the science behind the impacts of climate change among Spanish-speaking Faith Leaders in the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. This series addresses impacts of climate change on biodiversity, agriculture, and extreme weather events in Latin America and the Caribbean.
