Iliff School of Theology presents “A Dialogue Between Science and Religion: Earth, Water, and Fire,” leveraging elemental themes to deepen institutional engagement with local science related to climate change. Led by Drs. Amy Erickson and Jacob Kinnard, the project aims to meet student interest in climate action and social justice by developing learning opportunities around local ecological dynamics – such as land use history, water rights, climate trends, wildlife, and wildfires – that communities face. Public events highlight scientific and theological perspectives on the region and provide the basis for new curriculum in religion, ecology, and climate science. The project follows on previous engagement with AAAS under, “Incorporating Science and Launch of Artificial Intelligence Institute” (2019-2020).
