Azusa Pacific Seminary

Azusa Pacific Seminary is excited for the opportunity this potential grant will provide to more intentionally integrate the insights of science within its curriculum and ethos. Through the aid of leading scientists and experienced advisors, the revised curriculum and enrichment opportunities will resource seminarians to influence their communities toward a greater understanding of science, given that the relationship between science and religion is sometimes viewed in simplistic ways and science is viewed with suspicion. We also know that as an embedded institution with a world-class science faculty, this project will facilitate new collaboration between the theology and science faculty.

The “Exploring The Truth Together” project has six components: 1) Curriculum revision; 2) Spanish Science and Theology Conference; 3) English Science and Theology Conference; 4) Scientist and Theologian Roundtables; 5) Student Poster/Blog Competition; and 6) a website on Science and Theology in Spanish hosted on the Seminary website server.
